The venue

I am so happy to be sharing this Gloster House wedding with you because as a wedding florist, this venue is a dream! From start to finish this wedding was perfect, and it was such a special day for Ciara and Sam. It’s no secret that Gloster House weddings are up there with some of my favourites and I genuinely believe it is one of the most unique wedding venues in Ireland. There are few other venues with quite that level of elegance with those fresh white interiors acting as the perfect backdrop to showcase our flowers. The result is that all the architectural details inside the house really pop and I especially love the way the light bounces off the pure white interiors. Every little detail was flawlessly planned and executed by my friend Aoife at Blue Blossom Creative. I love working with Aoife, we make a great team!

Ciara and Sam’s family and friends were a wonderful mix of Irish, American and Chinese and their blend of cultures was evident with little touches throughout the day such as a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. (Even if we hung the Chinese symbols upside-down- oops!) Thank you Sam for remedying our faux pas! The one thing of course, that everyone shared on this particular day was an overwhelming sense of love and excitement for Ciara and Sam who clearly, were made for each other.

The flowers

This was one of those rare Irish days when the sun was shining, the breeze was warm and in the gorgeous sculpture garden with the dappled sunlight coming through the trees, it felt like we could have been somewhere on the continent. For Ciara and Sam’s flowers, we chose lots of dark greenery to offset the white flowers since the venue itself is so white. The contrast worked beautifully and the result was elegant and timeless, which is very much our vibe. Our flower choices included fluffy white hydrangeas, blousy playa blanca roses, white stock for scent, white delphinium and white cosmos to add a delicate touch. The result was romantic and classic, a design choice that mirrored it’s surroundings.

Ciara and Sam, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of your day. It was an honour and a privilege and I wish you a lifetime of health, happiness and love.
