WREATH CARE

WREATH CARE

You've received a beautiful fresh foliage wreath- so now what? Here's what you need to do to keep it looking great all season. Follow our tips and it will still look good on Valentines Day!

We sell 2 types of wreaths, fresh foliage wreaths and grapevine wreaths. Here are some tips for caring for both styles.

FRESH WREATHS

Freshly cut foliage likes cool, damp conditions. Hooray! Ireland's climate is perfect!

For maximum life of your fresh wreath, hang on the outside of your door but not if it is too exposed to the elements. A sheltered doorway is perfect. Windy conditions will quickly dry out the foliage and may blow some of the decorations loose

Once a week pour a little water over the back of the wreath. The moss backing will act like a sponge and provide some moisture to the cut foliage stems. This may sound like common sense but..... if your wreath has lights, make sure the battery pack does not get watered!

If you prefer to hang your fresh wreath inside, choose a cool area away from direct sunlight or heating to prevent the foliage from drying out. Inside the front door is a good second choice.

We supply a ribbon to hang your wreath but you will need an overdoor wreath hanger or a nail/ hook in your door from which to hang it.

GRAPEVINE WREATHS

These wreaths are made from a mix of fresh and dried materials and are designed to dry naturally over time. They may be hung inside or out, but if outside, make sure your wreath is protected from the rain and wind, a sheltered doorway or porch is perfect- otherwise the lovely dried bits will get all soggy!

The greenery and moss will dry our over time, this is natural. You may mist the greenery every few days to prolong the life if you wish.
